A PLAIN BRONZE LOTA (WATER VESSEL) AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Possibly Vijayanagara Empire, South India, late 16th – first half 17th century Of typical pyriform shape, resting on a short cylindrical base with a splayed foot, rising to a conical neck with a wide everted rim, engraved with double concentric lines on the rim, four concentric lines in the middle of the body, and an intricate lotus crown around the base, the foot with a chequered pattern, 23cm high.
