TWO SILVER-DAMASCENED (KOFTGARI) STEEL BETEL NUTCRACKERS AND A GOLD-DAMASCENED STEEL FLINT STRIKER AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Possibly Punjab or Northern India, mid to late 19th century Comprising two silver koftgari crackers inlaid with stylised foliage and vegetal sprays, one featuring rosette bands all around the edges with a two-tone inlay effect with both silver and copper, the longest 13.5cm; and a curved, slender steel flint striker with a stylised gold-damascened peacock head on one end inlaid with floral motifs, 11.5cm long.
