A CARVED HARDWOOD FOLDABLE QUR’AN STAND AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Northern India, 20th century Of narrow rectangular shape (when folded), the intersecting crossed legs carved in relief on the exterior with a cusped arch on the base surrounded by spraying floral meanderings with foliage and stylised rosettes, the upper square panel repeating a similar composition, the edges crenelated at the top and incised with leaf motifs all around, 45cm x 23cm (when folded).
