AN OFFICIAL PRINTED INDIAN SANAD (APOSTILLE) FROM THE VICEROY OF INDIA, ARCHIBALD P. WAVELL, FIRST EARL WAVELL (1943 – 1947) AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON New Delhi, Northern India, dated 14 June 1945 Ink and embossed gold pigment on paper, the large printed attestation document (sanad) acting as a commemorative distinction act and official Rao Sahib title appointment to Bhai Valiram Dholandas, a Sindwork merchant active in Hyderabad, dated 14th June 1945 and signed by the then-Viceroy of India, Field Marshal Archibald Percival Wavell, 1st Earl Wavell (in office 1 October 1943 – 21 February 1947), appointed to this office by the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and replaced upon his retirement in 1947 by Lord Mountbatten, stamped in black on the lower left corner and embossed in gold at the top with the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom featuring the Order of the Garter motto 'Honi soit qui mal y pense', mounted, glazed and framed, 54.5cm x 39cm including the frame.
