AN ENGRAVED BRASS GLOBULAR HUQQA BASE AN EYE FOR DETAIL: PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN NORTHERN LONDON Possibly Deccan or Northern India, 19th century Of typical globular shape with a gadrooned profile, resting on a plain convex base, rising to a short cylindrical neck with flattened protruding rings and a gently everted rim, the exterior incised and chased in shallow relief with vertical bands in-filled with tall cypress trees emerging from rosette heads and stylised fleshy leaves, further horizontal decorative bands with flower buds and foliage around the shoulders and neck, and narrow bands of lotus petals around the edges of the neck and base, 16cm high.
