A SILVER AND GOLD-DAMASCENED (KOFTGARI) STEEL JEWELLERY CASKET Possibly Punjab, Northern India, late 19th century Of rectangular shape with an everted profile, resting on four sloping bracket feet, surmounted by a hinged lid with raised centre, chamfered shoulders, and a sloping profile, with a floral finial with a large hoop in the middle, the exterior inlaid in silver and gold with vegetal scrolls, foliate stems, rosette roundels, and almond-shaped cartouches in-filled with stylised arabesque patterns, 8.8cm x 13cm x 9.5cm.
