A CARVED MOTTLED RED SANDSTONE DECORATIVE FRIEZE WITH FLOWERS Possibly Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, or Madhya Pradesh, Mughal India, 17th - 18th century The front carved and pierced, the frieze presenting an elegant floral stem, reminiscent of a hibiscus, with lush fleshy leaves interlocked in vegetal scrollwork on the base, mounted on a black stand, 51.5cm x 43.3cm at widest points (excluding the stand). Provenance: London Private Collection since the 1980s.
