A BAMIYAN MONOCHROME TURQUOISE-GLAZED POTTERY BOWL WITH KUFIC CALLIGRAPHY Afghanistan, Eastern Iranian provinces, 11th - 12th century Of deep conical shape, resting on a short, splayed foot, rising to an inward-turned rim, the interior plain except for an incised floral medallion in the centre, and a continuous epigraphic band of foliated Kufic script running just below the rim, the exterior plain, 13.5cm diam. and 9.2cm high.
