JEAN AVISSE (1723-1796), AWARDED MASTER CARPENTER IN 1745 Large molded and carved walnut armchair à la Reine, with curved back decorated with flowers, shoulders carved with acanthus leaves, armrests with cuffs terminating in scrolls and whiplash-shaped armrest supports set back from the seat. Sinuous crosspiece decorated with flowers. Resting on four cambered legs. Louis XV period (superficial wear, reinforcement under the seat, minor damage to the back uprights, one foot restored), stamped "Iavisse" on the inside of the rear crosspiece. Upholstered with polychrome flowers and foliage in one of the stylized cartouches. H 95 x W 70 x D 60 cm
