Ardébil rug (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), Northwest Persia, circa 1960-1980

The rug is based on a Chirvan (Caucasus) carpet: the blue-gray background is enhanced by small geometric shrubs and polychrome geometric floral motifs.
A red and ivory kufic border is framed by two multicolored rosette borders.
