Omega, Speedmaster, Ref. 145022 69, Mvt.2842xxxx, limited edition n°578/1014, 1969. A rare, historic and beautiful gold 3-counter chronograph, ochre tachometric bezel, champagne dial metalized "OM SWISS MADE OM", black enamelled applied hands and hour-markers, permanent seconds at 9 o'clock, 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers. Screw-down caseback engraved "Apollo XI - The first watch worn on the moon n°578", dust cover, mechanical hand-wound movement calibre 861. The watch is in excellent overall condition, both aesthetically and mechanically, with the engravings on the caseback perfectly marked. In 1969, following the triumph of the lunar expedition, Omega decided to commemorate this extraordinary achievement with a limited edition of 1014 pieces in gold, the first of which were destined for the highest representatives of the state and a limited number of imminent members of NASA, including some astronauts, for their essential collaboration. A "must-have" in the epic story of the conquest of space, in the Speedmaster collection and, more broadly, in the history of watchmaking when it merges with history with a capital H. Engraved screw-back "Apollo XI - The first watch worn on the moon n°578". The present timepiece is preserved in very good overall condition, showingcasing deep hallmarks on the back.
