Note: These polychrome engravings bear witness to the city of Orléans in the early 19th century. Jacques Pierre François Salmon (17811855) was a history painter and landscape artist, a pupil of Jean Bardin and Jean-Baptiste Regnault, and a drawing teacher at the Lycée d'Orléans. The Musée d'Orléans holds some of his works.
