197. Rosewood veneered secretary with flap
in a butterfly-wing pattern, framed in green-tinted
and yellow wood. It opens from top to bottom
a drawer, a flap revealing four cavities and six
six small drawers, and three drawers in three rows separated
by crosspieces.
Cutaway mounts terminate in straight legs.
Breche brown marble top with inverted cavet.
Stamped several times with J. DEMOULIN.
Louis XVI period.

probably missing a small drawer inside,
lock altered, restorations and small chips).
Jean Demoulin (1715-1798) was the cabinetmaker to the Prince de Condé.
