Wood and gilded stucco frame decorated with swans and foliate scrolls (wear and minor damage).
To be compared with two other Bacchanalian scenes, with Bacchus getting drunk, in different compositions but of similar dimensions, listed on the website of the Rijksbureau Voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (The Hague - RKD): Diane parmi les satyres (Wood. 35.5 x 40.2 cm) and Bacchus boire du vin (Wood.28 x 35 cm) (iconoclass 92L 1791).
