Originally published in the 1906 "Rouznémé Tounsié". M'hamed BEL-KHODJA (1869-1943): Tunisian civil servant and historian, born into one of the country's most important 19th-century Ottoman and Tunisian religious families. He contributed to a number of magazines, notably "Al Majalla Al Zaytounya", and published numerous works on various subjects (women, the concordance of times, Islamic monuments, pilgrimage...). He was also the founder of "Rouznémé Tounsié", a kind of taqwim published from 1901 to 1916. In 1902, he was appointed director of the official press. In 1919, he was appointed caïd-governor of Gabès and Bizerte. Having reached retirement age, he became a government advisor until his death.
