Michael Jan de Goeje (1836-1909) was a Dutch orientalist specializing in Arabia and Islam. A graduate of Leiden and Oxford universities, he is renowned for his editions of the Al-Tabari and Al-Idrissi manuscripts, and for his contribution to the colossal Encyclopedia of Islam.
