Iran, Qajar Art, 19th century Necklace and bracelet, each composed of an enfilade of eight gold plates in the form of a quatrefoil inlaid with red and green stones on the front, carved arabesque flowers on the back, and polychrome enameled pearls with floral motifs, and bordered on each side by a row of pearls. The necklace is embellished with two gold plates inlaid with gemstones in the shape of a mihrab framing an almond-shaped medallion topped by a four-petal flower, set with gemstone cabochons (tourmaline?, beryl?) and diamonds, surrounded by pearls, the reverse finely enameled with a "guls wa bulbul" (birds and flowers) motif. Condition: Good condition, a few very slight enamel chips, modern fasteners. H. 32 cm and 25 cm. Gross weight: necklace 67g, bracelet 30g. 18k gold.
