Porte-talisman pour bazu-band
Iran, 19th century
Octagonal-shaped, in silver, decorated with votive inscriptions in poly-lobed cartouches inlaid with engraved copper leaf. The reverse is engraved with a lunar figure.
Condition: minor wear.
2 x 5 x 5.5 cm. Silver 800 thousandths, gross weight: 30 gr.
The lid opens to hold a religious manuscript for prophylactic purposes. The two side fasteners allow the box to be fastened with straps, usually around the arm.
