By measuring the position and height of the stars, the astrolabe indicates the time and allows you to situate yourself in space. Inherited from the Greeks and perfected by the Arabs from the 8th century onwards, the astrolabe enjoyed great popularity, right up to the modern era, when the sciences took off once again.
A modern imitation of a Maghrebian astrolabe.
