Iran, 2nd half 18th century
Rectangular box in painted and lacquered papier-mâché, decorated in polychrome and gold with various scenes. The left side of the lid is painted with a "Shirin at the bath", while the right side depicts a visit to a religious leader (mullah) recognizable by his white turban. The lower part of the case is decorated with rural landscapes animated by a few men.
Condition: some restorations.
