Set of 17 silver prints, mainly by Russian photographers, depicting episodes from Mozaffar al-din Shah's trip(s) to Russia. Prince Mirza Reza Khan Arfa', initially an interpreter for Nasser al-din Shah in Russia, was appointed Iranian ambassador to St Petersburg from 1895 to 1901. In January 1900, he is said to have "played a decisive role in negotiating the Russian government's first loan" to Iran, which amounted to two million lire.
