Six cotton strips embroidered with polychrome silk threads. The decoration features a pair of round "Doira gullar nusxasi" flowers in the center, encircled by a ribbon of the same flowers and thick vegetal bands.
Condition: Worn, torn and slightly missing.

Samarkand suzanis are rooted in popular tradition. A distinct school reinvented in the 19th century, the Samarkand style tends to focus on imposing motifs of large, swirling "guls" framed by broad green shoots.
