"Magnum dictionarium latinum et gallicum" Lugduni, Nicolai Deville, 1708. In-4 (28 x 21), full calf, 5-rib spine, compartments decorated. Rare edition of this remarkable dictionary, first published in 1673, then enlarged in 1691. The present edition will be the 10th. Ill. with title-frontispiece. Binding rubbed, otherwise fresh inside. Pierre Danet's dictionary served as the basis for other dictionaries published in several European countries. The Dauphin of France to whom the work is dedicated is Louis Ferdinand (1729 - 1765), son of King Louis XV and father of King Louis XVI.
