Large polychrome enameled porcelain dish in the famille rose style with lotus flowers, sapele pendants and sound stones in foliage on a background of multicolored petals, frieze of grecques and bajixiang (eight Buddhist symbols) on the rim. Diam. 47.7 cm

Provenance: Collection of Doctor Maurice Fournials. Appointed in 1923 to the French Occupation Corps in China, he later became the guard physician at the French Legation in Peking, then assistant physician to the President of the Chinese Republic.
