LALIQUE René (1860-1945)
C.A.S. to Eugène Raguet, [Paris, circa 1910]. 1 p in-12. Engraved letterhead.
This card was most probably made when the Salon national des Beaux-arts was being set up () . Lalique is worried about the delay of certain craftsmen (electricians and marble workers), and fears he will not be ready.
Bill concerning the work of the electricians and the arrival of the marble workers. Lalique is worried about the delay and fears he won't be ready. Lalique is probably alluding to the creation of the Salon national des Beaux-Arts in 1889 by Puvis de Chavannes and Rodin in reaction to the official Salon.
Eugène Raguet (1863-1925) General Secretary of the Société des Beaux-Arts
