Second edition. The first was published in 1801.
Important account of the Egyptian campaign by Captain Thomas Walsh, 93rd Infantry Regiment, aide-de-camp to General Eyre Coote. It is both a military account and a description of the country, its inhabitants, monuments and customs.
The collations given by Abbey and Blakmer are different, and differ from each other, from the one in our copy. In our case, the table of plates (d2) is missing. On the other hand, we count 6 additional leaves to the first part and 9 additional leaves to the second. Chahine does not describe the edition.a large color fold-out plan of the Operations of the British and Ottoman Forces, 13 (of 14) maps including 7 fold-outs, some in color, and 27 plates out of text including 6 aquatints and 7 fold-outs.
Our copy lacks map no. 3 Map of Part of the Mediterranean Sea, but we count one additional plate to Abbey's list: Plate 23, Bed of the Lake Mareotis.
Spine rebound, small tear to title, minor worm damage to large map but no damage to text.
