MONTORGUEIL (Georges). Paris ses eaux et ses fontaines. [Paris]: Société de Saint-Éloy, 1925. - In-4, 283 x 224: (4 ff. first 2 blank), 189 pp. (4 ff. last 2 blank), printed cover. Dark green morocco, boards decorated in the center with an oval silver plate representing a fountain, on a blue morocco background and within a frame of two silver fillets, ribbed spine, double gilt fillet and gilt motif at the corners framed inside, light green moiré silk lining and endpapers, double endpapers, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved, lined slipcase (René Kieffer). Rare first edition, printed in an edition of 100 copies on Arches vellum, specially composed by Georges Montorgueil for the Société de Saint-Éloy. It is illustrated with 15 original full-page etchings by some of the Society's artists: Auguste BROUET, Charles JOUAS, Pierre-Adrien BOUROUX, Georges LE MEILLEUR, Charles HALLO, Edgar CHAHINE, Amédée FÉAU, Henry CHEFFER, Bernard NAUDIN, Georges GOBÔ, André DAUCHEZ, Louis WILLAUME, Georges JEANNIOT, Pierre GUSMAN and Tigrane POLAT. Copy number 4, specially printed for the famous painter and illustrator Georges Auriol (1863-1938). Beautiful copy bound in the workshops of René Kieffer. Spine slightly faded.
