Giuseppe Ceccarini (ROME 1742 - FANO 1781). Still life of fruit., with frame. Oil on canvas. cm61x82. The work can be attributed to Giuseppe Ceccarini, a painter active in and around Fano and author of church paintings, small paintings and portraits. He collaborated in several works with his father Sebastiano Ceccarini (1703-1783) and, similarly to his father, devoted part of his pictorial production to the depiction of still lifes, which in their setting and chromaticism derive much from Sebastiano's. The characteristic elements of Ceccarini's naturamortista production are the discreet chromatic tones, the soft chiaroscuro contrasts that emerge against a dark background. His pictorial corpus has been investigated and reconstructed only recently and is being increasingly enriched with new specimens.
