Oak wood. Full-length figure of Saint Barbara of Nicomedia, a 3rd century martyr who is venerated as the patron saint of miners and as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. Carved standing in a contrapposto, on her right side a slender, high tower, attribute of the saint. A book in the crook of her left arm. The robe is tight-fitting, forming two prominent bowl pleats below the hips, the cloak drapes in a large sweep to the foot area, held on the left and draped over the forearm on the right. Without mount in a beautiful brown wood color. Both forearms missing. (1402014) (1) (11)
