In the center of the picture are the naked boy Jesus with the Virgin Mary in an old rose-colored robe and blue cloak, who appears to be about to lift her son from a white pillow onto her lap. To the left of the two is the boy John with a cross and his hands folded in prayer, around whom St. Elizabeth has placed her arms from behind. On the right in the background, in front of a velum, is St. Joseph, leaning his head in his left hand and watching the ceremony with a lowered gaze as one of the two angels on the left crowns Mary's head with a wreath of flowers.
