PORTRAIT OF A MONK (SAINT FRANCISCUS?) Oil on canvas. 96 x 62 cm. In wide black frame. Against a dark, almost black background, a three-quarter depiction of a standing monk in a long brown habit with a hood over his head. He has crossed his arms with his strong hands in front of his chest and holds a small cross and a hanging rosary in his right hand. His head, with its slightly tanned face and beard, is tilted to one side and his expressive brown eyes look out of the picture to the side.
