In a gilded magnificent frame.
A golden tazza with a long stem and small light reflections, filled with light and dark blue grapes with leaves and an apple, standing on an old, partly cracked stone slab against a dark background. On the plate are two walnuts, one of which is open, three cherries and a velvety, shining peach. High-quality painting with strong contrasts of light and dark.
Annotation:
The artist worked in Leiden from 1653-1658, where he became a member of the Leiden Guild of St. Luke. He later moved to Amsterdam. He is known for his fruit and flower still lifes. (14011911) (1) (18)
