THE PENITENT MARIA MAGDALENA IN FRONT OF A STONE ARCH WITH A VIEW OF A WIDE LANDSCAPE Oil on wood. 16.5 x 22.5 cm. Mary Magdalene kneeling against a block of stone, her hands folded in front of her and her gaze directed towards the sky, in which a yellow light with slightly falling rays can be seen. In front of her on the rock is a small cross, an open book, a shiny ointment jar and utensils of her penance with scourge and skull. Lying on the ground in front of her is probably a clay bowl with water and two carrots, to be interpreted as food of renunciation. Isolated rest. (1402329) (18)
