In wide profiled frame.
Expansive hilly landscapes with a battle scene staggered into the depths, a fortress on a hill and a town in the distance. Hofmans was a pupil of Nicolaas van Eyck (1617-1679) and moved to Italy in 1660, where he established himself in Rome and married in 1682, after which he traveled to Turkey.
