LEDA WITH THE SWAN Oil on canvas. 100 x 76 cm. In a wide Louis XV-style frame. The mythological figure of Leda, who according to Greek mythology is seduced by Zeus in the form of a swan, was presumably used by the painter of the present painting to make a real portrait of a young lady appear more substantial. The lady in the three-quarter portrait with her head tilted slightly to the left. Her hair decorated with flowers, one breast bare, the swan with flower festoon in front of her lap.
