Bronze figure of a young woman dancing rhythmically in gymnastics with her body leaning back, in the dance pose of 1920s Art Deco, on a round plinth, black patina.Sandoz turned to sculpture as the son of a pharmaceutical entrepreneur and created almost 1,800 sculptures. His large seahorse sculptures with similarly designed female figures in the waters of Lake Geneva are well known. He founded the Société française des animaliers in 1933 and exhibited works in the pavilion of the Société des artistes décorateurs at the Paris World Exhibition in 1937. He became a member of the Paris Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1947.(14015811) (11)
