UNTITLED, 1951 Mixed media with oil, chalk, charcoal, colored wax crayons on paper. 50 x 70 cm. Signed and dated "FWinter 51" lower right. Behind glass, in original frame. Fritz Winter was one of the pioneers of abstraction. He studied at the Bauhaus, was a founding member of the artists' group ZEN 49 and was one of the protagonists of artistic screen printing in Germany. From his early Bauhaus works, he developed his own formal language, which gave him a special position alongside the informal. Provenance: Galerie W.
