Height: 66 cm. Late 19th/early 20th century. Cast bronze figure of the Borghese fencer standing on a rectangular plinth with a dark brown patina. The present bronze is an interpretation of the famous Borghese Fencer, one of the most admired ancient sculptures, which had been in the Villa Borghese since its discovery in Porto d'Anzio, shortly before 1611, until it was acquired by Napoleon around 1807.
