YOUNG LADY WITH PARASOL ON A MARBLE BENCH

The landscape shows wide dunes in Holland; the antique-classical, semi-circular marble bench is probably part of a promenade in a seaside town. This is an excellent rendering of the elegance of a young lady in fine painting, as well as the marble material of the bench with the lion figure, as can also be seen in other of his paintings. He was a pupil of Cornelis Ouboter van der Grient in Delft and of Cornelis Kruseman. The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam contains works by his hand.
