Summery illuminated shore meadow with trees on a lake on which a sailing boat can be seen. Otto Pippel is considered one of the most important late Impressionists in southern Germany. He studied in Karlsruhe in 1905 and completed his training under Gotthard Johann Kühl (1850-1915) at the Dresden Academy. A stay in Paris in 1905, during which he became acquainted with the French Impressionists, had a formative influence on his further work. After 1918, he lived and worked in Planegg, painting a wide variety of landscapes, still lifes and city vedutas in the Impressionist manner.(1400532) (13)
