FLOWER POT WITH RED BEGONIAS Oil on hardboard. 50.5 x 45.5 cm. Signed and inscribed 'ERNST LIEBERMANN MCHN' lower right. In gilded frame. A clay pot with saucer and a large begonia with bright red, partly drooping flowers standing on a plate against a beige background. The artist received his training at the Berlin Academy of Arts from 1890-1893. From 1897 he worked in Munich, initially as an illustrator, before turning to painting; he created numerous portraits, nudes and landscapes.(1400127) (18)
