Otto Pippel is considered one of the most important late Impressionists in southern Germany. He studied in Karlsruhe in 1905 and completed his training under Gotthard Johann Kühl (1850-1915) at the Dresden Academy. A stay in Paris in 1905, during which he became acquainted with the French Impressionists, had a formative influence on his further work. After 1918, he lived and worked in Planegg, painting a wide variety of landscapes, still lifes and city vedutas in the Impressionist manner.(1400451) (13)
