POSTILLON IN A WINTRY TOWN Oil on wood. 40 x 50 cm. Signed "Reinhold Braun" lower left, verso old label with artist's name and dedication "Zu Weihnachten 1898". In a magnificent frame. On a starry night, a stagecoach has stopped in a small town between snow-covered old houses, from which mostly yellowish candlelight falls, reminiscent of Christmas. On the right, in front of an entrance door, a little girl in a white dress with a veil and crown holds a small Christmas tree in her hands, while on the left, in front of the entrance to a house, two children stand and point to a small dog on the stagecoach.
