Bernardus Johannes Blommers, 1845 – 1914 BOY WITH BASKET FISHING FOR SHRIMPS IN THE SHORE WATER Mixed media on cardboard. 28 x 43 cm. Signed lower right. Framed behind glass. Blommers is one of the representatives of the younger generation of the Hague School. He was a pupil of Jozef Israels, whose painting style is particularly recognizable in his work. A stay in Paris followed in 1870/71. Like Israels, he mainly devoted himself to Dutch rural life, particularly with beach scenes.
