The painting was probably created during the artist's stay in Antwerp after completing his training with Dyckmans and Wappers, before moving to the USA in 1849. The well-known painter of the Munich School was Philipp Röth's father-in-law and a friend of Eugen Bracht. He received numerous awards and his works were included in many public collections in Europe and the USA. (14004017) (11)
