Ben, pseudonym of Benjamin Vautier, is a French artist of Swiss origin, born in Naples in 1935. He lived and worked in Nice, where he arrived at the age of fourteen. During the years 1959 - 1960, the main members of what came to be known as the Nice School met in his store, or on the sidewalk. Close to Yves Klein
and the Nouveaux Réalistes, he belonged to the artistic avant-garde, more specifically post-modernism and the Fluxus group. By the end of the 1960s, he had established a solid public reputation,
