Alexandre ZEITLIN (1872-1944).
"Baby". Yorkshire au naturel in gilt bronze, eyes in sulfide. He is lying on his cushion with his initials "BB" on top of his owner Walter Palmer's book "Poultry managment on a farm, London 1901". Signed A Zeitlin. signed by the founders Thibaut frère in Paris and L. Gasne St Paris.

This bronze was specially commissioned by the writer Walter Palmer from Alexandre Zeitlin, of his dog "Bébé". Alexandre Zeitlin was a Jewish sculptor born in Russia in 1872. He studied with Falguières in Paris, then lived in London and the United States, where he died in 1944.
