LARGE IVORY CHAMPAGNE HOLDER
Silver, rock crystal, metal, vermeil and twelve ivory and moonstone mousseurs. The holder rests on an octagonal silver base with metal bottom.
Base and support plate in crenellated silver with eight small sides. Gold gadroons. Gilt molding. Carved rock crystal octagonal shaft and square socket. Engraved "metal" for the bottom trim.
French work, signed CARTIER. Goldsmith's hallmark of Maurice COUET.

Maurice Couet was one of Cartier's most important manufacturing workshops from 1911 until after the Second World War. Among other things, it was Cartier's main workshop for precious clocks.
