A MOURNING RING UNDENIABLY DATED 1762
A little rarity, the original enamel inscription written in Latin declares that this is the hair of Robert PAUL, Esquire, who died on June 19, 1762 at the age of 76.
This type of ring rarely comes to us in this condition. It is a must-have in any ring collection, undoubtedly dated and in its original condition. A delightful rereading of Diana Scarisbrick's irreplaceable book "Rings" reveals a rotating ring with the touching inscription "1815 to Lieutenant Colonel Thomas fallen at Waterloo".
