Antoni GAUDI (1852-1926), attributed to
Pair of wrought and beaten-iron pot-holder saddles with Art Nouveau naturalistic decor of stylized plants with "whiplash" movements. Circular top and tripod base with hot-applied rivets.
Circa 1885
Height: 107 cm
Note: This pair of sellettes is similar to the model in the collection of Kiki and Pedro UHART, renowned artists and collectors of Antoni Gaudi objects and furniture, from the Casa Mila in Barcelona. Our example also features elements similar to the pair of planter supports preserved at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris (OAO 1387), executed by Juan Oños assisted by the brothers José and Luis Badia.
